About the game
Okey is Turkey's favourite tile game, a rummy for four played with numbered tiles, and here you can play it instantly in your browser with no app and no sign-up, on phone, tablet or computer. The classic rules are complete. There are 106 tiles: red, yellow, blue and black, numbered 1 to 13 with two of each, plus two false jokers. The tile one above the face-up indicator, in the same colour, is the okey, a wild tile that can stand for any tile; after 13 comes 1. A false joker stands in for the okey tile itself, with its colour and number. The dealer gets 15 tiles and everyone else 14; play passes to the right, and on your turn you draw from the deck or take the tile your left neighbour just discarded, then discard one. Three or more consecutive tiles of one colour (12-13-1 counts) or three or four tiles of the same number in different colours form a set. When all 14 tiles sit in sets, or in seven pairs, discard your fifteenth tile to finish. Your rack has two rows: drag tiles anywhere or sort them in one tap with Sort runs and Sort pairs. Completed sets glow green underneath, okey tiles carry a gold star and the Finish button lights up the moment your hand can go out. Scoring: a normal finish is worth 2, finishing by discarding the okey 4, finishing with pairs 4 and pairs plus an okey discard 8, and holding the twin of the indicator adds 1. A match lasts three games and the highest total wins. In the career against the computer every match you win takes you up a level and the bots get sharper: they pick up useful discards, track what has been thrown, avoid feeding the next player and switch to pairs when their hand suits it. Online, invite a friend with a room code or link, or get matched with a random player; bots fill the two empty seats and each turn has a 20 second clock. There is no chat, only quick reactions.
