About the game
Lava & Ice Duo is a two-player puzzle platformer set inside an abandoned sci-fi facility. Ember, the heat-suited operative, wades safely through molten metal but is lost if he falls into coolant; Frost, the cryo-suited operative, walks through coolant but cannot touch molten metal. Green toxic waste is deadly to both. Stand on pressure plates to hold gates open, throw levers to run elevators and push crates into place as steps. Ember collects red energy cells and Frost collects blue ones; when both reach their own exit door the level ends and you earn up to three stars for cells, time and a clean run. Twelve levels grow steadily harder, stars unlock new armor looks and your progress is saved. Play solo and switch between the two heroes, or share one keyboard with a friend. In online co-op, invite a friend with a room code or invite link and solve the same level together from different devices and even different cities; without a friend, Find a world opponent matches you with a partner from anywhere. The host picks the level and both of you see the same facility. There is no chat, only quick reaction icons.
How to play
- Pick a mode: 2 players on this device, solo, or online co-op (with a friend or a world partner).
- Lead Ember through molten metal and Frost through coolant; keep both away from green toxic waste.
- Use pressure plates, levers and crates to run gates and elevators.
- Collect red cells with Ember and blue cells with Frost.
- When both reach their own exit the level ends; online, the host picks the level and you continue together with Next.
Controls
Keyboard, 2 players on this device: Ember walks with A/D and jumps with W; Frost walks with ←/→ and jumps with ↑. Keyboard, solo: WASD or the arrow keys move the selected hero, Space jumps and Tab switches heroes. Online co-op: move your own operative with A/D or ←/→ and jump with W, ↑ or Space; the host plays Ember and the guest plays Frost. R restarts the level, L opens the level list, P pauses. Touch: the left, right and jump buttons at the bottom; in solo the swap button switches heroes.

Can I play with a friend on different devices?
Yes. Press Play, choose Play with a friend → Create room and send the 5-letter code or the invite link. Your friend joins from their own device, even in another city, with Join with code; you play Ember, they play Frost, and you solve the same level together.
Can I play alone?
Yes. In solo mode, switch between the two heroes with Tab or the swap button and solve the levels yourself.
How do I earn stars?
Each level has three stars: collect every energy cell, finish under the target time and finish without losing a hero. Stars unlock new armor looks.
Is the game free?
