About the game
Trap Run is a hard platformer that looks very easy at first glance but hides a trick in every corner. In neon-lit single-screen levels, all you have to do is get your glowing little hero to the door. The problem is that the level itself is playing against you: the floor collapses just as you step on it, spikes pop out of the ground the moment you get close, the door runs off to the other side of the screen as you approach, the ceiling drops on your head, gravity flips upside down and fake checkpoints bite you. Platforms that slide away when you jump and reverse zones that swap left and right make it even trickier. Every time you die you respawn instantly at the start of the same level, with no waiting and no menus. A dashed ghost of your previous attempt runs alongside you, so you can see exactly where it went wrong, and your death counter is proudly displayed in the top-left corner. There are 40 hand-designed levels across four zones, The Lab, Rooftops, Factory and The Void, and each one introduces a new trap or remixes the old ones in a new way. After level 40, endless MASTER levels shuffle every trap together. Finishing a level fast gives more points and every death takes a few away. A new neon color for your hero unlocks every five levels and your progress is saved on your device. If a level blocks you, you can skip it with a short optional ad. How to play
- Run left and right and jump over obstacles.
- Tap jump for a short hop, hold it for a high jump.
- Reach the door, but careful: the door may run and the floor may collapse.
- When you die you respawn instantly: learn the trap and beat it next time.
- If you get stuck, skip the level from the menu or press Give up to see your score.
Controls
Touch: run with the arrow buttons at the bottom left, jump with the button at the bottom right. Keyboard: Left/Right arrows or A/D to run, Space, Up arrow or W to jump, R restarts the level, M opens the menu, P pauses.
